Tyndrum Village Hall is again playing host to a variety of speakers through CafeSci.... CafeSci originated some years ago in France with the aim of enabling local communities to enjoy learning about science in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Asking questions, sharing ideas and experiences is an important feature of a CafeSci meeting.

The Strathfillan Community Development Trust has established a branch of CafeSci now in it's second year. Our first talk held last week was a facinating look at stem cell research with Dr Marilyn Robertson BSc PhD (Executive Director of the Scottish Stem Cell Network)

The next CafeSci is on Wed. 15th November - "Who needs chemistry?" with Joe Connolly (PhD, DSc, FRSE) Professor Connolly is an expert on the constituents of African medicinal plants.

  • Wednesday 21st February 2007
  • Are nutritional guidelines based on scientific evidence? DWT Crompton (OBE, MA, ScD, FRSE)
  • Wednesday 21st March 2007
  • The Risk Business Graeme Robertson (BSc FFA)
